In an answer-based education system, you’re given a set of questions and the goal is to get the most right answers in the shortest amount of time.
In reality, the hardest part is figuring out the best question to ask.
In a system that prioritizes and rewards answers, people always try to trademark ideas. But no one has ever tried to trademark questions.
When you come up with a good answer or a good idea, it belongs to you. But then the next question is: Now what? Are people on board? Does everyone agree? Is there a group you might have forgotten about?
But when you come up with a good question, you instantly invite people to contribute their ideas and opinions. By default, a good question belongs to everyone.
Our project (MỞ) is considering changing our mission statement to a mission question. Something to not only guide our thoughts and actions, but also invite everyone interested in achieving that vision with us to think and act. We believe that collective wisdom eats individual excellence for breakfast.
Instead of using a boastful statement, we start by asking: Do you find this question as interesting as we do? If yes, wanna join us in trying to answer it?
Good answers belong to you and Good questions belong to everyone. How cool would it be if your mission becomes everyone's mission?
