don't miss your chance
When we hear an opinion or see a practice that's completely different from what we are used to, our natural reaction is to be afraid: "No, why would you do that? (My way) is so much better."
What would happen if we, instead, say "Oh, interesting. What makes you think like that? What makes you do it this way?"
We wouldn't piss anyone off. We would make the other person feel important and respected. We would open up more conversations. And best of all, we now have the possibility to learn a different way to view the world.
Every time you are defensive of your opinion, you are missing the chance to understand a different reality. The more you miss(understand), the easier it is to criticize and to hate.
So don't be afraid of something just because it's different. Lower your guards. Go in those "different" spaces and engage.
Respectful curiosity is never discouraged.
If it is, get out of that environment. Go here: https://www.facebook.com/mo.giaoduc/
